A LIFETIME IN MOTION

An athlete’s understanding. A scientist’s methodology.

Tyler Vandruff brings experience in sport, scientific training, and a teacher’s patience to bike fitting. His aim is to help you feel more comfortable and confident on your bike, whether you’re preparing for a race or riding for enjoyment.

His background includes road, timetrial, triathalon, XC and downhill bike racing. along with award-winning participation in cross-country, track and decathlon. Training with different coaches and competing at various levels helped him appreciate how movement and performance vary from person to person. Skateboarding added additional lessons in balance, fortitude, rhythm, coordination and crashing.

He earned a geology degree from the University of Arizona and completed pre-med physical therapy requirements before fully committing to bike fitting. Those studies broadened his understanding of anatomy and movement and continue to inform how he approaches comfort, efficiency, and performance on the bike. His approach also draws on his work as a scuba instructor, underwater photographer, high-school chemistry, geology and earth science teacher as well as head track and field and cross-country coach.

Every fitting begins with listening. Tyler considers your fitness, muscle tone, flexibility, focus, and goals, then works with you to adjust your bike for your body and the conditions in which you ride.

Some have described Tyler as a “bike whisperer.” For him, the work comes down to careful observation, clear explanations, and thoughtful adjustments guided by your feedback.

Work with Tyler to find a fit that helps you enjoy your ride.

“Yeah… I love sports.”

Tyler’s life outside cycling has included soccer and volleyball, surfing, sailing and cruising, wakeboarding, slalom water skiing, skiing and snowboarding, hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing and ultimate frisbee. Current favorite activities include disc golf, underwater photography and hiking in addition to cycling.

The current new focus is learning to wing foil—another chance to be a beginner, discover a new movement, and keep learning. That enthusiasm for sport, and empathy for those new to it is part of what he brings to every rider who walks into his fit studio.
